the plans sounds nice that your capable to add people to your family plan, but where are the savings.. you need at least a 60 dollar 900 minute individual plan or a shared 1400 min 80 dollar plan. and thats with out texting plan SMS and MMS and no mobile web.. once you add those options the plan get ridiculously expensive..

It's a great thing. I'm already on the 1400 family share with unlimited texting. my sister always goes over my minutes. Now that won't be a problem.

Can you name a cheaper plan with more??

FYI... MetroPCS, Revol, and Cricket don't count. They are not even closely comparable in coverage.

Sprint's everything plan for 99.99 is the best competition, but all that is is a Bandaid to stop the bleeding of customers ditching sprint because of poor service.

AT&T - $60 - 900 min - no SMS - rollover
Sprint - $60 - 900 min - no SMS - 7:00PM
TMOB - $60 - 1000 min - no SMS - no M2M - Faves

but to answer your question about saving...

Imagine you are using 1300 min a month as a standalone line. You are currently paying 79.99 (or 99.99 with unl SMS) You add five numbers that usually use about 500 minutes of your plan a month. You now use 800 minutes and can change from the 1350 plan to the 900 plan and

say it with me...

SAVE TWENTY DOLLARS

With family plans you could save even more

again where are you saving, take for instance the sprint texting plan starts at 69.99 compared to verizons 79.99... and on the family shared with texting sprints is 99.99 with 1500 minutes compared to 119.99 to verizons 1400 minutes. sure adding 5 people is great but text plans are unlimited to any carrier these days so i rather go with the savings.

Cheech, you hitting the bong? Big Red comes out with something awesome to their 80 million customers and not they're not charging a cent for and you get on here calling out crap about savings? Its gonna save tons of people money on their bills.

Its like when people that were on $150 to $200 a month single lines, and when everyone came out with Unlimited minutes, they got to drop down to $100 for their minute usage.

Seems like your the type of person dying of thirst in a desert, along comes someone giving you water, but you complain that its not Kool Aid.

it is a really nice bonus to an already hyped up and over advertised celbricorp with a set of naive customers to stupid to not have already switched to another carrier.

really nice indeed...surprising even.

none the less, you will see soon that this won't be as huge as you think. won't sell as well as projected, and won't save as much money for as many people as claimed.

its good, but not miraculous.

That haterade taste real bitter? If it is true that they are not going to charge anything extra for it (something quite surprising for VZW) then existing customers have nothing to complain about and those who would never be customers of VZW regardless should have nothing to complain about either. Sounds like a gift to me.

Hell no! 99 bucks is not the average price point for the majority of cell users. it's 60 bucks!

Do you understand the concept of "minimum requirements"? Verizon is saying the MINIMUM REQUIREMENT is a 1400 Basic Family Share Plan or a 900 Basic Single Line plan. Select, Connect and Premium plans can add it...but you must be at 1400 or 900. Would you have rathered they said "you must be at least at the 1400 or 900 Select plans"? Then you have your messaging...wow...

This is total savings for me. I am on the 900 Select plan, and I also have the Blackberry Plan for $29.99. I had to bump down from the unlimited plan because of tough times. Everyone in my phone book are Verizon customers, except like 5 people, they are Metro customers and they are the ones I talk to the most. So this is perfect for me. I don't have to worry about using my anytimes min for them anymore whooo hoooo.

A lot of family plans are 1400+ and it's not unusual to see 900+ minute plans as well for individual.

Considering there is no additional cost for this option, it is a GREAT value. Would you rather they charge money for it, but have it at every level?

People bitch regardless. No one can ever just be happy. Go find a high cliff, and take a dive. Everytime a company improves, and helps improve the network you always have one individual which is going to complain! Shut UP!

Actually it is wonderful savings for me considering Verizon works the best in my area (and my brothers area, both in different States than myself)and I'm currently on a 3,000 minute plan because my brothers talk to their fiance/wives excessively. I can now knock my minutes down to their 1400 select plan and add 10 numbers. I don't even have 10 numbers to add but I'll find em, 😁
