you get unlimited VOICE every day of the week 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Verizon prepay is a joke I can appreciate that they're trying to revamp it to stay competitive, but C'mon there are so may better options.
...
I definitely agree....this is a joke. C'mon..a penny to send and receive texts....REALLY? you can't throw that in? Good old Verizon trying to get every penny they possibly can...literally
...

throw that in for 4 a day on an account that may not last two months?
You can get unlimited texting for 20 a month, which is what post pay customers pay. You get per message rates at a fraction of the cost for post pay customers at that level.

Exactly.
Don't forget that on a postpay plan unlimited calling and text is $119.99 a month.
You really expect them to give you the same for LESS on prepaid? That would be a terrible move on Verizon's part. This isn't as bad as many of you make it out to be.
If you want cheaper service go get T-Mo, Sprint, or Trackfone.
...
Not for the coverage that Verizon gives you.
Look at AT&Ts Pre Paid map and Sprint's, it sucks.
Go Phone and Virgin Mobile.
...
compared to boost mobile unlimited everything for 50 bucks, this is a joke for real.
...
It's definitely a joke
...
that is your opinion. if it included unlimited text messaging it wouldn't be such a slap in the mouth...it's just Verizon penny pinching.....since it costs nothing for them, overhead wise, in terms of texts..... It's the principle of it...
...

considering it's $99.99 for a contracted price...
$12 more for prepay? Not too shabby.
...
I know.
And with coverage almost everywhere with no Roaming charges.
...
Is no roaming charges supposed to be a bonus? Any carrier that charges for roaming is living in the stone age.
Coverage almost everywhere, the same as all big three carriers. Any other selling points that makes this attractive? I have found 0

NOPE you have to be a verizon employee talking out your ass for it to make sense 🙂
...
I am worried about what kind of training goes on for vzw employees... I am thinking something along the lines of Zoolander when he was brainwashed into killing the prime minister
...
I mean God forbid a company is ever allowed to train their employees to sell their product... how awful of VZW!

For people who don't want a contract can get this and use it in more places then Virgin Mobile (Sprint) and Go Phone (AT&T).
Sprint's service looks like Connect the Dots and AT&Ts looks like a wave thats missing water in the West and other places.
...
Despite what any map (by the way, who makes those maps? there's no way a carrier might boost their coverage on a map is there?) says, in my experience travelling across the country roaming or not, as it is irrelevant, i have not lost coverage or dropped calls with sprint. Does that mean sprint has perfect coverage? Of course not. No company has perfect coverage. Guess what? Neither does verizon
And let me fill you in on a little secret... listen closely... most prepaid customers aren't business people travelling across the united states.
...
I never said business people.
People do travle, and it would be good to have service.

But a lot of prepay customers are people who live in the middle of nowhere, like here in the mountains.
ATT sorta works here
Tracfone works
and Verizon has next to perfect coverage (at least here, att is better a little further north)
These customers don't care about global coverage. , they don't care about city coverage. they want it to work where they live. Verizon has amazing rural coverage, especially with Alltel now part of their native towers.
Any carrier will work great in the city, and most will work on any major highways. It's the boondocks where coverage really matters.
...
According to the latest coverage map, most of Verizon's coverage is now Home Network coverage, there are now only a few areas with Roaming (this only really matters on Prepay) compared to before. This makes Prepay service a lot better than you think if you do travel and you hate monthly service contracts.
Also, that ultra basic Prepay would be good for "when you really need it" emergency phone use. It basically costs you $15 per month or $100 per year, depending on how much money you dump into the Prepay at once.
...
Look at Verizon Wireless' new pre-pay map, then compare it to the maps of other carriers' pre-pay services. Notice a significant difference? I do.
Really, anyone who's whining about this price is an idiot. It's pretty similar to what you'd be getting with post-pay, given taxes and such. It's in line with post-pay, which I'll admit it high compared to Sprint. Do keep in mind that Sprint scrambled to come up with unlimited plans AFTER Verizon Wireless initially offered them. Wow, big surprise that it just happened to be lower in cost. Give me a break.
...
who ever said $99 dollars contracted price for voice only was a good deal?
...
MennoFeb 11, 2009, 10:56 AM
The people that signed up for it?
The low turnover, net adds that sign up for verizon even with the price difference?
Is it the cheapest out there? Not at all.
does this mean it is overpriced? That's not up for you or I to decide. That is for each customer.
...
Wow. This is so expensive. I don't understand how this could be a good deal. Virgin Mobile has unlimited voice for 79.98. If coverage is a huge issue, Net10 uses the GSM network and charges 79.98 for everything, including text messaging. Boost Mobile, and MetroPCS, have $45 - $50 options as well.
The only two things Verizon has going for it are perhaps more equipment options, and its coverage is extensive.
If you're like me, however, and primarily use my cell phone as my home phone, the Virgin Mobile or other plans cheaper than Verizon work fine.
...
Well you sure don't go to the bmw dealership to buy a kia !!! So in otherwords you should go to the places that have cheaper plans but you will not get good coverage at all verizon has great prepaid and they know what they are doing !! Also prepaid is not the most profitable thing in the world for verizon they have to offer as per the fcc but in all reality they wouldnt choose to sell it if they had that option !! Also the turnover rate is really high for prepay the avg user doesnt even go back to add mins or reup they think they can get a new phone everytime they abuse it so therefore verizon makes nowhere as much as you think on prepaid trust me I work for verizon and we get charged back on about 99.9% of prepaid i would just not rather se...

Yea, it'd be nice if we didn't have to deal with the "sell at a huge loss and maybe make up some of the cost on commission and hope loads that the customer doesn't breathe on their account wrong and cause a charge-back" thing. I just wish handset manufacturers would be able to manufacture handsets for a reasonable price and not be Audiovox/UTStarcom/PCD cheap about it. You know what I mean about PCD cheap. 👿
...
Page Plus has an unlimited plan $75.00 month voice. They use VZW towers/switches.
Every time VZW comes out with something like this Page Plus makes out.
😁
...
You conveniently left out pay only on the days you use it. So for some, this is NOT $111.72 a month.
Is this still the best deal around for everyone? Of course not, but it's a good deal for some for sure.
...
MennoFeb 11, 2009, 10:54 AM
Post pay will always be better.
Remember most people who use prepay this much either have Poor credit, or they are too young to get their own plans.
It's not meant to be something that replaces a plan for heavy users. It is for casual users and people trying to work their credit up.
