How many computer companys are going to jump on the bandwagon of makeing smartphones. Toshiba, Apple, and pretty soon Dell. Im not saying its a bad thing, I think we need competition, I just wonder how stable these phones are going to be. And I know if these phones are going to be touch screens, the first thing people are going to say is "its no iphone". Thats not the point, Apple was the first but I think its great that others are joining in and trying to put there mark on the industry. I look forward to it. 😁

WOW is right! Its going to be awesome to see some phones that will compete with the I-phone. though a good phone it is not the end all to phones. though I do like the ideal that its based on a "linux" system for developers.

Add Acer to the crowd of smartphones. Theres a rumor that Acer is going to announce a smartphone at Mobile World Congress this month.

Personally I'm setting my sights on the Nokia N97-NAM!

I'm going to have to get my hands on a whole slew of OT to be able to afford the hefty price tag of the N97-NAM, I am a current owner of the N95, and am looking forward to having a handset with a keyboard, I've never had a phone with a touchscreen so I don't know how I'll feel about that, being all sensitive about the screen being clean and stuff. But that N97 is one beast of a phone! It's really the closest thing to a laptop computer in the palm of your hand with 32GB's! Nice 3.5in screen, and it'll be nice having a lens cover on the camera also. I just hope it runs faster than the N95 damn it, cause I almost have my 8gig memory card full and my phone runs way, way slow! ! !

I would assume with all the upgrades to the software and hardware that Nokia is makeing to the N97, that its going to have a better prosessr and better memory managment. We wont know until they release it. I wouldnt worry too much about it though, Nokia has always made great products.

I built a 72 Mercury Comet a couple years back. Her name was Haley as in Haley's Comet. Stupid I know but it fit pretty well. I get email alerts on my BB when someone replies to one of my posts, thats why I can respond so quick.

You can not forget about HTC and especially HP. They were very instrumental in hand held computation before apple.

I am afraid that the iphone's days of hype will be numbered by t...

I couldn't agree with you more. I don't think companies like HTC get their due. HTC has been making great touch devices for many years now yet their still not considered in main stream society as a big player (at least form what Ive seen). I love HTC products. Also, I'm so excited about the Palm Pre. It really is going to be a "ijunk killer". I would never switch to Sprint service but if they make an unlocked version, you can bet you arse I'm getting one. I think we are going to see alot of devices that are better than the ijunk and more affordable in the coming months and into 2010. Unless, Apple sues everyone for so called "patent" infringement. (if you stay up to date on the wireless industry, you'll know what I'm talking about) Anyway, I...

I have made no secret of the fact that I'm an avid Blackberry user. However, I love HTC products and I couldn't agree more with you about WinMo platform. There is a learning curve with it. I had a chance to play with an unlocked HTC Diamond, the customer had a txt msg problem and of coarse, I spent more time with it than necessary. I loved it. The Touch Flo 3D interface was... IS absolutely amazing. And I feel that it is flashy enough for the "form" and plenty powerful enough for the "function". I think that the more we move towards the "all in one computer in the palm of your hand" type of device that we are going to see some huge advances. Far beyond what the ijunk did. I am really excited about all these computer companies joining the cel...

The last time a U.S. carrier carried an HP smartphone was like way back in 04/05 Cingular. Maybe HP was a major player in the smartphone market way back, but I really don't see or hear of new innovative smartphones from HP.
