Somebody already said there is "no call waiting, sms is shady at times and the reception is not that good". If you are a post-paid customer can you port your # in and if you do, can you port your # out if you do not like the service? What are other strengths and weaknesses other than price?

Well I have had Boost twice over the past couple of years. They are good to go with if you want to have a decent amount of minutes at a decent price and don't want to be locked into a contract. They offer the best prepaid service in my opinion followed by AT&T. Verizon's prepay is a very expensive joke and is not even worthy of consideration.

Call waiting worked fine for me with Boost and didn't cause a problem. Text messaging on the other hand is awful. It can take hours for messages you send to be received by the other person and it can also take hours for you to receive a message someone sent you so if you are a big texter then I would stay away. As long as you check your coverage area first you should be in good shape.

Yes, you ...

I will be honest with you. I have had Boost mobile since 2003. My wife has MetroPCS. And to be completely honest. I prefer Boost to MetroPCS for a few reasons (And in my mind, all are major reasons).

First I live in St. Pete Beach Florida. The Land of Sun, Wrinkles and Hurricanes. I get awesome signal everywhere I go. The only exception to that rule was when we got hammered a lot in 2004 with all those Hurricanes. MetroPCS on the other hand..... Lets just say this, My wife can't call inside any building. The only time she can get a call in our house is if she stands by the window.

Second.

I have had 4 phones with Boost Mobile. The first was a Boost Mobile branded i50sx. Then I got a Nextel branded i730, then a i850 and now I am usin...

Yeah I live in southwest Florida and in the past I foolishly tried Metro PCS and it lasted one day. The phone had no service in the condo and struggled to get 1 bar outside and in the immediate vicinty. Their pricing plans are great but what's the point when the phone only works in select few areas. My boost phones the i580 and then the i776 had 5 bars indoors and out and always had clear signal. The only reason I left for Alltel/Verizon was economical for being able to have mobile to mobile calling with more people without using minutes. I was always happy with boost though.

I tried the unlimited plan for one day. And too many problems with Boost to list here. Horrible Customer Service, Horrible complicated bulky phones. When they ported my number and gave me a temp to use on there website none of them worked and I had no phone to use. Lets see what else no call waiting they dont tell you about. And the Iden network is not that good signal goes in and out dropped calls even though it said i was in an excellent coverage area. I returned and disputed charges. And Would Highly recommend Cricket Not metroPcs. If they have Cricket service where you are. They are growing rapidly may not be quite nationwide yet but check there site they have greatly expanded coverage. And there top plan at 60.00 comes with 200 Roaming m...

Seriuosly dude, you sound like a broken record here. How many times can you say the same thing? The temp number I had for all of 5 minutes before my number was ported worked just fine as I suspect did many others. You are vastly in the minority here.

It's also obvious you are in bed with and obsessed with Cricket. All I can say is I hope that they are paying you for your endorsements because wow. They still seem to be in the infant stage coverage-wise but if they work for you then great.

Agreed. There are always issues with every Mobile phone provider. Get over it. We are human and we are susceptible to mistakes. And honestly it sounds like all he wants to do is harp, harp, harp.

lol its all good this w be last reply I dont work for cricket and if they give me probs down the road then w dump them thats the benefit of no contract right. Was really just recomending them to people over Boost which really gave me a bad impression and ya I should have done my homework to check there coverage and phones etc. But to me if Crickets in your area and with there expanded coverage area etc there a better choice. Alot of people just arent aware of that is all! Have a good one!
