This is so stupid...

Delaying DTV transition is stupid. Consumers were informed and warned well in advance. Converter boxes are not that expensive to begin with, even without a government coupon (card). If a store price is high, they can be found online for less. Cell phone carriers have already invested into technology to take advantage of the new spectrum and now a delay. I will not be surprised if there is another delay as the new deadline of June 12 approaches...

Yes, he can veto it, but I believe he has already stated that he is in favor of a delay.

Bottom line is that although there are about 2.5M people that would be affected by the transition, when you factor in the hundreds of millions of people that are ready for the transition, that 2.5M number is statistically insignificant.

It's not just cell phone companies that are angling for the switch. Think of an EMT who arrives on the scene of a car crash. The victim is in critical condition. The EMT pulls out a HD webcam and an OLED screen from his toolbox, connects with a doctor (if it's late at night, the doctor could even be located in...

I remember hearing this was going to happen when I was in high school...oh and btw I'm 29 now.

Tell me that landfills are being affected by everyone buying new TVs and tossing their CRTs. DON'T tell me it's because of converter boxes. Absolute joke...
