I don't know about how your phones are, but the last 8 camera phones I've had all had an accessible speaker that the camera noises would come from.

Someone can simply muffle the speaker with their thumb and a little bit of pressure and the semi-distant "target" wouldnt even hear it.

In conclusion, this bill seems like the biggest waste of time and money ever.

Every cell phone can be hacked, every murder weapon can be hid, there are ways around everything. The point isn't to prevent every case. And no the war in Iraq was the biggest waste of money ever. Honestly this bill will probably not pass but it will lead to laws that allow people who take inappropriate pictures without notifying the subject to be prosecuted. You guys are all looking at it from an innocents point of view. Laws are made so that people that violate them can be prosecuted. You're not gonna molest a child, but there are people who will, and those people deserved to be prosecuted. Speaking of wasting money, let's get rid of mile postings and speed limit signs.

The thing is, if they have this passed then they should make it so that all cameras should need to make sounds while taking pictures. But every camera can silence the sound so what's the difference with camera phones??
Oh, and while they're at it they might as well make ever video camera have to make sounds while recording too so that people know... haha
