Its easy to say people should stop complaining but those converter boxes are around 40-80 dollars even with the coupon. Some people just don't have that to spare. If you have to decide between spending 40 dollars on a converter box or putting it in your gas tank so you can actually make it to work it is obvious what you are going to pick.
I think that the government should have been willing to just send you a converter box instead of relying on those stupid coupons. I'm sure they could have made some sort of contract with one of the companies that makes them.
I really don't care one way or another though since I have cable tv and highspeed internet and can watch whatever I want to online if I did decide to get rid of cable tv (which might watch once or twice a week).
