This is a very typical move on our government's part. Make comittment. Break it. Set new one. Repeat cycle as needed.

But this wasn't "our government" that did this. It was "Bush's government," which as we all know was stolen from the people. So of course, Obama has no obligation to honor anything that was said or done in the last eight years (sarcasm).

In all seriousness, a few of our local TV stations have already decomissioned their analog services in certain markets. I'm sure there are other stations across the country that have done the same. A delay would just mess up all the work that the TV stations have already done.

Have you looked up the definition of sarcasm? He was being facetious. Besides, this is extremely dumb. Why should companies have to suffer and have some of their planning wasted so people can go and BUY a converter to get "free" tv? QUIT BEING CHEAP AND GET CABLE/SATELLITE. TV is NOT a right, it is a privilege. Quit acting like you deserve tv because you live here.

And yes, I know, people get coupons for the converter box, but it's still silly that they are willing to go and "purchase" something to get something free; it's more the concept that's silly then the reality.

As a cell phone retailer, we went through the same analog to digital conversion last year. There were some people who simply were not going to make the switch away from their bag phones, even if the new digital phones offered better service and rates, until their analog phones were no longer usable. We'll never reach 100% saturation of converter boxes before the transition.

A good middle ground would be to keep the transition date in place and extend the rebate time frame.

I LOL at the people who think a President can get anything accomplished without the Senate and House behind him. L2politics scrubs.

This was Bush you say? Well, seems to me that Obama's been in office for several days now...and it's the Democrats that run the Senate...and the Senate is the one that approved it...and Obama will have to sign the new law with the new date...so.... I really don't think you have a valid agrument.
