Re: Will Nextel end up with 1900 MHz spectrum?

I doubt it. Sprint will take the 1900 MHz and run with it, and now that I think about it, that may have been the reason for the merger to begin with. It's an easy score, the government is trading a frequency you want, what's easier than bidding on it? Buying the company and jacking the spectrum, then selling the company off. That's obviously has to be one of the reason why DT is so interested, I mean why else would they be intested now instead of waiting until Sprint's too far gone to save themselves. I think in the end the government will either forget the situation till another national emergency or after Sprint sales off Nextel they will bail Nextel out with a multi-billion dollar contract to run the National Emergency System, allowing Nextel to purchase additonal spectrum elsewhere.
