Only the spectrum that interferes with emergency frequencies is part of the forced vacate. Sprint in turn, receives spectrum in exchange. A crude illustration would be:
- BEFORE TRANSITION:
Sprint spectrum currently: 800-825 mhz, 850-900 mhz
Government spectrum currently: 825-850 mhz
- AFTER TRANSITION:
Sprint: 825-900 mhz (unbroken)
Government: 800-825 mhz
These are not the exact frequencies, but it gives you a rough idea.
