Sure, it's sad to hear of another well known American chain going under, but it happens. I remember places like The Warehouse (Music & Video), Tower Records, Music Plus , Lucky (Grocery Store) COMP USA, & loads of others when they closed their doors for good. People don't attribute their demise to discount retailers. They went bankrupt because of bad or obsolete business practices in a growing economy & not changing with the times. You don't hear about discount places like Ross being bashed for other clothing retailers closing. I am so damned tired of people bashing Wal-Mart and other major discount outlets. Only approximately 35% of Americans make over $37,000 a year. That's a lot of people who don't make big bucks, and can use a discount retailer like Wal-Mart & Food-4-Less. People like myself might only be able to make $10-$11 an hour. I have a 4 year old child & my wife can't work, so I'll be damned if I'm going to let people talk crap on Wal-Mart. You know why? Because a pack of diapers (not the off brand) that cost over $20 at places like Target, K-Mart, & grocery stores cost less at Wal-Mart. You wanna know how I get by with my meager $1200 a month paychecks?!? BY SAVING A FEW BUCKS AT WAL-MART. As a former Wal-Mart employee, many might think I am biased. I don't give a damn. I know how Wal-Mart is able to have so much lower prices. Many people think that Wal-Mart is lowering prices and suffering a loss of profit over a plan just to cause every other major retailer to go out of busines. Do you really think Wal-Mart is that stupid?!? They lower cost by utilizing cost cutting procedures, just like everybody else. The only difference is that instead of putting the saved money back into their own damned greedy pockets, they pass it along to their customers by lowering prices. People don't think about that. Is this done only to build a good reputation? I don't really know. What I do know is that all 4 of the Wal-Marts within 15 miles of my house are jam packed all day, every day. I live only a few minutes away from Orlando. That's about 600,000 people in the general area. I guess not everybody thinks that Wal-Mart is evil, SO STOP BASHING ON WAL-MART!

Don't think I am only ranting on because I support Wal-Mart, because a great friend of mine is losing his job over the closures. I know he doesn't blame Wal-Mart for making Circuit City close down and him losing his job.
