Why would anyone want the $99 2yr contract plan now?

Why sign a contract with Sprint or Nextel and pay $100 a month for unlimited usage, when you can pay half that with boost and not be committed? Am I missing something?

Sprint has a very fast data network and PDAs. Boost does not.

Nationwide, but I don't think the iDEN network is as advanced as the CDMA network for internet. This might be something for someone looking for a deal, but I'll tak a take a pass. If this offer were on their CDMA network in my market, then I'd probably take a look. Sprint does have a good network in my area, and sadly, works in a few places that my Verizon doesn't work, including the metal shack I work in, and both Verizon & Sprint on the same tower in town.

One word...Roaming! Boost phones are not able to roam or use anybody else's network except Nextel's iDen. Boost is offering this plan to keep sales up since the Sprint side is not selling enough iDen devices.

My shack is much bigger than that, but there aren't many trees where I work. It's mostly corn & cows producing cow s***. 🤣

The reasons why people would still go for the 99 plan is basically what everyone else has said. More features with Sprint's data network. Also Boost does not offer discounts on phones.
