AT&T is losing more and more points

I really hate this company and they have done the same sort of thing in the area I live. They have lied to their customers and have charged several people "phantom phones" when they have already bought a phone. It doesn't surprise me they did this. They are a money hungry company looking out for number one aka Steve Jobs.

Maybe AT&T can use the 2Million they've stole from customers to pay this off, and if they need more American Idol (over rated show) could give them more money for the spam they send out.
Stick it to the customer AT&T! Stick it to them!

Verizon isnt like they were, trust me.

Verizons prices are the same as AT&T, data is higher, but look at how there network is set up!

Would you rater pay like 10 more $'s for a data network that you can count on to have High Speen internet in 98% of there coverage area, or 10 $'s less for a network that always has problems?

AT&T and Verizons calling plans are the same.

Why would you pay the same amount with AT&T when you can get the better coverage and talk to more people for free and have 3G internet in 4 times the places as AT&T, when you can have Verizon?

AT&T is headed down a very very bad path.

More like LESS Bars in MORE Places.

I was with Verizon for 9 years. I will never go Evil or Very Mad back. Where I live, VZW drops calls in virtually the same places that AT&T does. The differerence is my opinion is the customer service. AT&T will work with you and show their grattitude for you being a customer. I've done so many early upgrades in the 2 years that I've been with them. VZW lost me as a customer over 17 days before I was eligible for an upgrade on 2 of my 5 lines. VZW could have locked me in for another 2 years. Oh well....love my cheaper bill, nicer phones, rollover minutes, and my iPhone 3G

Good for you. Glad to hear it. Do you get the same customer loyalty perks at Walmart as well? "I've shopped with you for twelve years exclusively. I should be rewarded with a free ham or I am taking my business to Meijer." Why is it that people feel like cell phone companies OWE them for their patronage. I mean we do provide a service. It is not as though customers walk around with a phone and do not actually get to use it.

One can get a sales rep or customer service reps from ANY company and trade war stories and they will all sound the same. So you are in a store and a customer who didn't opt for insurance walks in hands, you a phone and says: "It doesn't work." You remove the battery and liquid gushes on your counter. You...

I couldn't agree more with what you said. It's a shame that some people will be scared off by the length of your statement. Really, I've been a VZW customer since 2002, and I've never once started a conversation with a rep off by saying so. I pay for a service, and I get what I pay for. I don't look to be given exceptions or special treatment. Never have, never will.

Since working there, I've spoken with customers who give me the "I've been with you for X years..." approach, and the most comical thing about it is that I've often been with VZW for much longer than they have. I've never cared about how much I was paying for my plan, and I've always had the foresight to purchase insurance (although I've never needed it).

What ever happene...

Rollover is a rip off.

And AT&T customer service sucks.

the bills are the same, unless you have stupid people who do stuff with out thinking.

You keep thinking of stuff that happen over a year ago.

They take most of them away every month, they charged my grandparents when they had at&t everytime they would use them! Cingular use to take away after 1 year, at&t takes away every month, but my grandparents have alltel now.

Seriously? You know it takes a year of NO USE of your rollover minutes before they will expire, right? Not to mention they only go by monthly, meaning Jan '08's minutes are fixing to expire, but no others will. I'd have to have them for at least a year. Your precious little Verizon doesn't even offer the service. So REALLY explain how they are a ripoff.

HAHA!

I had AT&T Wireless, then Cingular, then AT&T.

And if you run out of mins, you can add more to your account.

And Little Verizon?

HAHA! Verizon WIRELESS is bigger then AT&T by a long shot, remember Vondafone owns half of VZW which is the largest mobile network in the world. Thats why were better then your little at&t crap. Laughing

Thats why Verizons Roaming charges are alot lower then AT&Ts. I dont see AT&T with a North American calling plan, all i see is AT&T getting sewed, loosing more customers then Verizon each Q, and coverage becoming less and less. HAHA! Enjoy your sucky service and customer service!

*Groan* More bars refers to the Cingular network after the ATTWS acquisition compared to before. I have four phones with VZW and none with ATT. However...enough already. How did a story about some unethical practices become a discussion on technology and network comparison?

I'm sort of mixed on this, yes, in many ways what AT&T did was wrong. But if you are the customer and in a divestiture situation, wouldn't you like to have the option to be let out of contract to stay with AT&T rather then be forced (under penality of ETF) to go with another carrier.

And I'm sure VZW or any other carrier would pull the same crap if they could get away with it. Nor do I think of this as being immoral.

I am NOT mixed on MY feelings. It seems ATT tries to get away with much more than the other carriers and they seem to be more impervious to the consequences as well. This really kind of pisses me off. Sprint gets fined Billions for trying to hold customers to a "signed" contr...

Like I said in my post, I dont think this is ATT, I thinks its a couple of bad apples that give the whole company a bad name. I do not advocate what these people did and I hope ATT takes stern actions to deal with these individuals. Read my post, it pretty much says what I have to say about the matter.

The Sprint ETF thing was because they renewed customers contracts whenever they changed plans or features (all plans and nearly all features) but wasn't tied to anything tangible. AT&T was ok because contracts are in exchange for subsidizing the equipment purchase prices, and we don't extend for anything else except for a very restricted list of international packages where we LOSE money in the short run but make a profit over the course of the year.

The FCC and/or DoJ mandated divestment for a reason: in the affected markets, the combined DCOC-AT&T would have had too much market share. When AT&T solicited those divested subscribers to "stay" w/ AT&T, AT&T effectively attempted to subvert the required divestment. Whether the subscribers liked it or not, what AT&T did was wrong, as it ostensibly violated the merger consent agreement.

Now, if subscriber...
