Apple seems just as CONTROLLING as. . .

N. korea!!! I sure am glad I own the N95, and that Nokia doesn't TELL me what I can & can't have on my handset like Apple does.

There is becoming way, way too much control in technology.

It seems like I'm going to stick with unlocked/unbranded phones for the rest of my days.

Theres ol' Steve Jobs for you. In his youth he was the young stick it to the man (ie IBM) rebel who was all about breaking the rules. These days he's IS the man (dictator) and he's telling you what you can and can't do with something you bought. Hipocrisy at its finest?

What are you talking about? Apple has always been about having full control over the hardware and software. There's nothing new here.

They just had no clue, and come in to post not understanding or researching this information further. Yes, Apple has always had its own software for its computers. That's why they run so perfectly! Duah

Boy you guys really should make sure you pay more attention before posting. If you had actually read my post you would see it was discussion of the man and not the products themselves.

Steve was a hippy that wanted nothing more than to do away the rigid conformity of society and had his own personal vendetta against IBM. Watch an episode of "Leave it to Beaver" and see the very nature of what Steve was against.

I hate Apple. While I understand the concept of monopolization, I find it amusing that one company with a pathetic market share can get away with so many things that are deemed inappropriate for another company with a much higher market share.
