Excellent point. With technology comes a whole new layer of pros and cons.
I have actually had my laptop open on the passenger seat while driving with google maps up on the screen. But I am being smart in that I am only looking at it when I am stopped at a light. My reason for doing this is on the weekends I photograph kids' sports at locations I have never been to before. Instead of printing out the directions twice a weekend and wasting paper (I won't even open that green can of worms), I would just take the laptop along. The directions were on the screen instead of a piece of paper. Man would the National Safety Council have thrown the book at me!
