This has been publicized over and over for several years, people did nothing, waited for the last minute to get their rebate or whatever cards, and now complain they need more time, or are unaware.

This spectrum has been spoken for and paid for. I honestly do feel bad for those who waited, but people need to take responsibility for their actions. Delaying is not going to solve anything.

Agreed as well. I get sick of everyone complaining always and not listening to the many warnings. Its not that they cant have TV its that they won't get it for free. go pay full price for your converter and continue to save the money that you aren't spending on cable/satellite.

It ain't like they're doing without electricity. Watching and owning tv is a privilege, not a right. Those wishing to continue need to upgrade.

If the govt allows businesses such as cell phone and cable operators to charge us extra (see your cell, cable, or home phone bill tax section) for government mandated rules then they can help the consumer out by giving vouchers to compensate them for their loss. Since consumers cannot directly charge the government then they should be able to collect by other means. They should NOT have to pay $ for a governments decision especially if they had just purchased a CRT tv which typically has about a 10 year lifespan. So I do not agree with you on that BUT in no way should they delay the transition. Those individuals will just have to go without tv for a little while.

Given the FCC has bombarded us with ads in every conceivable location for the past 18 months and EVERY electronics retailer has been pretty clear on this, I'm trying to think of who could possibly be in the dark about this. Even my post office has messages scattered all over the place.

I don't feel bad for anyone. The coupons were basically a prepaid debit card for $40 that can be used for a converter box. If anything, implement a refund system where they have to send a copy of the receipt to get reimbursed for the box. delaying will cost companies more money than any other solution will
