I can't beleive these threads. They are trying to save people and prevent terorrists from communicating to each other if some occurs. But everyone seems to be concerned about "what about my rights? what about me me me" Who cares! If it saves people from dying in an attack shut off my cell phone, it's not like they are chaining you down and not allowing you to move. Wow, my parents can't call me and check to see if i a ok and they would prob cry and be scared but if that saves people it is worth it.

There is no doubt that the Nation's security is top priority. However, In the heat of passion and panic, the first thing that comes to an individual's mind is survival and checking on loved ones. The communication needs to remain open! 911 was a perfect example. Every Federal building and the tallest buildings in every city across America were being shut down and evacuated. Think of the mass crowds of hyseria trying to get to their families in these areas on top of an already sensitive and dangerous situation. Being able to make one or two phone calls set many people at ease knowing that at least their families were safe and free from possible targets. This undoubtedly helped the crews able to focus better on the areas of concern.

Besides, Don't people think that terrorists have a backup plan if communication were to be cut off? In fact, they probably would expect it. They have a plan to complete all or part of their mission no matter what the consequences are. This is why they are called terrorists. They convey terror in us to the point of disrupting our everyday lifestyles. Keep the communication open and we have a better chance to call in unusual activity or devices found in a crisis. If it were not that communication were left open on flight 96, who knows were that would have ended up. Rather than 100 people dying proudly for their country, Thousands upon thousands could have been fatal casualties.

Keep the communication open!
