Thank you oh great "bully" for giving me unlocked GPS on my Verizon phone 😎

Most Blackberrys can be or are at this point in time. The Storm came unlocked. If you update the OS to 4.5.97 in the Pearl and Curve they will get that feature unlocked too.

WinMo devices are scheduled for an early '09 de-crippling.

Verizon will not be getting the Pre, Palm said after the American SPRINT version they only plan to release a GSM European World-Ready version. Palm also said it chose Sprint because Sprint has recently been rated to have the largest and fastest 3G Network. Palm said they want customers to get the full experience from the Pre meaning they do not want any carrier to limit the device. Verizon has a history of crippling the GPS and stripping WiFi as well as other features.

Crippling GPS and stripping wiFi aren't valid arguments anymore at least for Verizon.

Blackberrys are now GPS enabled, WinMo phones will be very soon this year and Verizon does have wifi phones.

Verizon does have a history of crippling but it's rapidly becoming just that...part of history.

It's also not unusual for companies to limit their phones to 1 or a few carriers
