Finally, Palm is coming back with a real phone again. I really loved my Palm 700. But we have been plagued with awful devices such as the mogul, touch, instinct. I was beginning to think sprint did not care what its user wanted anymore. The phone looks great and sharp. Can't wait to trade in my dreadful insticnt, for this one. I believe both Palm and Sprint really need this!!!

For Palm, this is where the rubber meets the pavement. This needs to be a winner or it maybe the end of the line for Palm. The Centro has been a help but they need a killer business device to keep up with the rest! Hopefully this will be that device. I also question your take on the above devices. HTC in the recent 2 y...

If dedicated Palm users trust Palm as to what direction Palm is taking they're OS like I trust Nokia with reguards to what direction Nokia is taking the N95 in becoming the N97 then they will follow Palm's product line just as I trust Nokia enough to follow they're product line from the N95 to the N97.

i trust you know what you're trying to say because you sure as hell lost me the first couple times i read this, trusting that you are trying to say how much you trust your own trustworthiness.

What I'm saying is that if die hard Palm fans have faith in Palm then they should trust the directiion they are taking they're product line.

Does that make sense?

yeah, i got the OP, it just took a second to get out of the circle of words....
and I agree.
I like palm and I think this will be a great phone as long as they can keep us supplied and fix any bugs before it hists the market

It took me a short moment to figure out what you meant by "OP", but I figured it out. "Original Post".

I cannot agree with you more. I am so sick of all the WinMo devices. I loved my 755p but upgraded to a Touch Pro and I am not impressed. Touchflo is decent but nowhere as neat as iPhone or TouchWiz in my opinion. Cannot wait for this to drop b/c I will definitely be purchasing this device.

Are you aware that even though it has 8gigs internal memory there is no microsd slot! You may have your own prefence, but I prefer removable memory. If your wondering how I know it doesn't have a microsd slot I asked Rich, and he said it doesn't.

What about usb included so it syncs well? I only like removable memory if I can't direct connect it without spending extra money on a wire.

I don't know, as is the case with all smartphones , I'm sure there will be a way for it to interact with the pc.

Ask Rich Brome, he got to mess around with one in person.

8gb is more than enough for me. I am not trying to load it to the max with media content. I just need to add a few shows, movies, and about 250 mp3's and I'm good. I am more interested in the OS and its usability more than anything else ๐Ÿ™‚

What really sets it apart from the iPhone, though, is the slide-out QWERTY keyboard and removable battery. (The keyboard is small but decent; it's based on the Centro's.) Some other competing phones have these features, but not in a body as small as the Pre. It's impressively small and light. Standard microUSB (with mass storage mode) and 3.5mm audio jacks further separate it from certain competitors. Palm really went down the checklist of competitors' weaknesses and made sure the Pre delivered what the competition missed.

someone understands how to put together a good phone!!

if it only had flash it would be so much better though
