Will computer replace hard drives with flash drives? it would be great to be able to have a fast hard drive with raid set up to back up to a flash drive.

Now we can have map programs such as garmin loaded on a memory card instead of downloading on the go with programs such as telenav.

Hard drives are already slowly replaced with SSD's (Solid State Drive). They're currently cap out at 512GB's, and are very, very expensive. But the benefits are of course no moving parts, and much faster.

SSD's are good for laptops & netbooks.

SSD have the downside of a maximum number of rewrites. They are good for static data like system files and programs or media that you don't plan on removing/replacing for a long time. Definitely not good for data that changes a lot.
