i work at an at&t retailer, and there is an alltel retailer right beside me.
they have no idea whats going to happen to them... anyone else maybe know?
is alltel going to simply not exist anymore? or will they start receiving vzw devices?

On this Friday, Verizon will own the Alltel Corp.
Alltel plans will stay the same until the store name changes.
So your Alltel store will have Alltel phones and plans until there name changes to Verizon.
And really really soon, this month, Verizon and Alltel people can talk for free. I think even starting this Friday!

Much will remain separate until the "Trust Markets have been divested or have otherwise been cleared by the DOJ for take over. Although the merger is approved, there are many markets that must be looked at individually due to roaming agreements etc. As far as IN Calling for all? Not yet.
