Bad move.

Very bad move. AT&T will lose a lot of good smartphones this way. They will end up only selling "AT&T Smartphones." Say goodbye to the Blackberries, Moto Qs, Samsung Blackjacks, Palm Treos, etc, etc.

Or sell just Iphones!

I agree. This is absurd.

Just yesterday I pitched an idea to Rich and Phone Scoop. This would fit in perfectly!

I don't see it as a bad move. You can have an S60 OS on your devices and a user-selectable interface running on top of it.

Its not only the interface... but the apps that are supported.

I may have an app that is meant for Android or Blackberry - it may not run on S60.
I don't care for iPhone much, as its a walled garden API (sort of what AT&T wants to go on) - non configurable, locked down apps that are only available through them (sounds like BREW/GIN / iPhone App Store model) 🙄

AT&T will pretty much be paid for by a smartphone provider - I'll be surprised if Microsoft doesn't fork up and pay for its platform to be 'the' platform.

Than S60 compatible apps would be offered. No big deal.
