Opera Mini is great for a phone with a crappy web browser(PIE) or no web browser. But the regular web browser is a lot better and opera mini doesn't seem any faster.

It is a nice alternative if you prefer opera mini. Would rather see opera mobile instead.

Yes, it is true that the built-in browser suffices very well, but considering that Opera is making a program for Android, show how much potential the G1 (and future android phones) could get.

You can transfer all your book marks to another phone or home pc just by login in. Comes in handy.

Maybe not needed, but very useful. I will freely admit the default browser is more capable and has a lot more in the way of features. However, Opera Mini has the ability to put a page in mobile view, which means if i'm reading a text article that's wider than my screen, I don't have to constantly slide my finger around to continue reading the paragraph. That's handy in and of itself. Also, Opera Mini over Edge is as fast as the default browser over 3G. Granted, there are certain sites that you simply need the built-in browser for, but for a lot of my basic browsing needs, Opera's great. I've turned off the 3G radio and left Opera on all day, and as a perk, my battery life is about 3x as long. Can't beat that really. There are plenty ...
