Doubtful...
I think Verizon is the only carrier in the US that uses Brew and they're very restrictive on what applications they permit on "their" phones. So basically any application that doesn't make them money or competes with anything they sell, they won't allow.

Actually, I believe that about all U.S. CDMA carriers use BREW, the main exception being Sprint. I don't know of any other U.S. CDMA carrier who uses Java.

Actually I don't think that the SDK is going to be the issue here. The SDK has been available for a long time for personal use. The problem is that in order to get your Apps BREW certified (wich is required), you will need to have a Verisign certificate for your application BEFORE they can be certified for use on a BREW device. Then the carrier has to accept the application into their download area. A Verisign software certificate is something like $400 for a single application. I looked into development for BREW about 6 months ago. There is no way I am going to spend $400 and not even know whether the app is going to pass certification, or a carrier will pick it up.

Yeah. Its really too bad.
Its really just another instance of US cell carriers being way overrestrictive of thier phones.

Brew is crap and a ripoff.

I am not as familiar with brew. Is it crap or is it because the carrier is restrictive? It has been awhile since I have had Verizon so I don't know.
