Since when is "bilking customers" R&D?

There are a LOT of free apps on the iPhone- the difference is if I pay $15.00 for an IM program (a one time fee- less than someone will pay for VZW's crap in a year), I get a very very very high quality program. VZW's are always crude and just to make a quick buck. But with the iPhone you can CHOOSE the free-or-pay alternative- it's not Apple MANDATING that to use an IM program you MUST pay $3.00/mo or to use a photo uploader you MUST pay on top of your data plan.

VZW charges a ton for everything, but the experiences are all garbage. If they'd back off and let it be free, they could change how people communicate and get people to embrace more new technologies that could in the long run earn them more money. Instead, VZW just focuses on bilking suckers.

Oh, and their coverage is junk, too.
