Changing the Pearl for the Storm
I already have the pearl and would like to change and get the storm. My upgrade is not until the summer of 2008. Can I get the storm for the sale price and just renew my contract? Or would I have to pay full price for the storm and if so, what will the full price be?
...
Retail price would probaly be around $425.00 but im not sure
...
You would have to pay full retail price- Verizon is not doing any early upgrades on this phone.
...
Are you sure because someone posted on howardforums that cs put the early upgrade into the system to purchase the storm.
After reading this I decided to call and see would they let me use my early upgrade promotion for the blackberry storm and they said I could. But you know how uninformed cs reps can be.

No phone at Verizon is treated like that, officially. That being said, I can see an ambitious retail rep not wanting to sell this on an annual upgrade since he won't make any commission off of it. If you are peddled some BS just call one of those "uninformed cs reps" They will escalate to a supervisor and get you taken care of. Corporate doesn't care what phone you upgrade to as long as you upgrade. Extending your contract an extra year is churn protection and that is the bottom line.

If a person is eligible for Annual Upgrade ($59.99 rate plan or higher with one year of a two year contract completed) then they can upgrade to any phone which they are willing to pay Two Year price plus $20 Early Upgrade fee for.
...
luckily, you are now eligible as Summer 2008 is in the past.
...
lol I thought I was the only one the caught that but decided not to say anything. 🤣 🤣
...
Sorry about that was thinking 2009 and wrote 2008
...
if you are not eligible until the summer of 09 they wont honor it early. If a rep told you different then they are uninformed

A customer is eligible to upgrade after 20 months and eligible for Annual upgrade after 12 months. Therefore a customer eligible to upgrade in June is eligible for Annual in October. July upgrade eligible is November Annual eligible and August upgrade eligible is December Annual eligible. As long as the customer is on a qualifying rate plan then yeah...why not?
