Samsung?!?!?!

Samsung must be selling all these phones to their GSM customers because their CDMA phones are utter crap, bad reception, poor build quality, and often they'll lose service permantly (like the SCH-a870...worst Samsung phone ever built). Honestly, I'm surprised LG hasn't taken this spot considering they are about 90% of what I sell..of course I work for Verizon which has a love affair with LG so that might be why.

I wonder how much of this has to do with the Instinct?

None...since Sprint isn't in my market, I've never even seen one so I should rephrase and say Samsung Verizon phones suck.

I don't work for Verizon but have family members that do. They have said the same thing as you have. They claim that the glide has issues and that LG is definitely a hit for them. however, most Samsung phones are actually very formidable and the instinct is a whole different game and worth checking it out. I had them try it out and they thought it was awesome. Some companies are better with certain carriers than others. Samsung seems to work the best with Sprint now that Sanyo is gone. LG appears to be more fluent with Verizon. Since I do not work for a carrier, it would be hard for me to Judge. But next to Nokia, Samsung is huge. Personally though, I have not found anything to match my HTC. But that's just my opinion.

When I worked for Alltel, most of the phones I sold were Samsung phones.

The reason that Samsung is number 1 in the US and number 2 globally is due to the large amount of products across all accounts. NOT JUST VERIZON LIKE LG. Samsung provides more quality products than any other manufacture. Even though the Glyde is having issues, that does not mean that all Samsung phones are bad. I guess that you forgot about the Chocolate product from the past. I believe that it was the most returned phone in Verizon history. The Glyde is far from that and that is a FACT. All Samsung products go thru the same testing that LG does and in some cases they test better. But always above Verizon's requirements for quality and RF. If you think that the phones in Verizon suck you should blame Verizon for buying them. Maybe ...

Well, I base my opinion off of experience (and not something I read on the internet...Brandkeys means jack to me) and my experience has been that the Samsung phones on Verizon are not nearly as reliable as LG's nor Motorola's. Let's put it this way, Samsung phones are by far the lowest seller and they have the highest return rate (at least in my market)...and why would I push the Dare over the Omnia? They are completely different products (ie PDA versus "dumbphone"), now I might push the Storm over the Omnia, merely because I prefer the ease of use of a BB versus Windows Mobile (no matter how hard Samsung tries to pretty it up with TouchWiz), but I won't pass judgement until I use both. I also question whether Verizon's testing is actually...

I hear ya brother, But Sprint is CDMA and Samsung performs great. I am not a Verizon hater but I honestly feel it is the network/phone union that can be the problem. As I stated some phones work better on different carriers. LG probably conforms better to Verizon's platform. I am just guessing obviously, but I am also going by experience. Samsung makes a killer device and I have never experienced a problem with them on Sprint's network.

Well now I'm jealous man, send some Samsung love over to Verizon! I'm optimistic about the Omnia, Saga, and Renown...

As previously said, Samsung phones are not crap. This is the same mentality that Motorola fanatics used all throughout 200 and into 2007 about Samsung phones. They'd call them "Samsuck", garbage...This was around the time when Motorola was gaining US market share, Samsung was loosing it. I said then the tables would change, if for any other reason than that Samsung had a wide portfolio of different handsets for each four wireless provider. Motorola was relying on the RAZR in different colors. This worked for 18 months maybe, then the bottom fell out. It didn't help that Motorola's pockets were nowhere near as deep at Samsung Electronic's, or that their software was nowhere near what Samsung was putting out (something that actually worked). Q...
