Sprint. Don't screw this up.

The only way this will work is by full integration or complete segregation in opertations. No in between. They need to focus on Nextel for Businesses and contractors and Sprint for average consumers. This will eliminate any confusion. If they have total integration, it will be a formadible package. But no mixing and matching. It's one or the other or all in one. I am a fan of both technologies and don't want the confusion.

They made the biggest posible mistake when they tried to "integrate" the two companies from the outset. They should have left them totally separate, combining profit/loss at the bottom line of the parent corporation's quarterly & annual reports, i.e. initially "merge" only the cash. There was no reason to combine operations immediately, and this has proven to be the rabid, monster dog that bit them in the butt.

Other companies have merged far, far more successfully by maintaining the merged companies as separate divisions. It only makes sense to merge operations well after the two formerly separate entities get to know each other very well, and even then integration should be attempted only for specific items that can be integrated in sma...

There is no doubt that Gary and his rebels screwed things up but Dan has a viable history and feel he is heading in the right direction. This is something that can not be fixed overnight. Obviously your business knowledge is vast in this category but I deal with personal results which I have found Sprint to be stellar since the inception of Dan Hesse. My friend is a VP for a Multi-million dollar company who had switched from Verizon to TMO not by his choice and they could not email or contact half their sales reps around the country in a timely manor. They had made the switch to Sprint and he is totally amazed on how productive Sprint has made them in overall contact between corporate and sales. The money they are saving has been great and t...
