i work at at&t and i always thought this was redundant since you have to have the unlimited package anyway. therefore its not really free in a sense. honestly, its not big enough of a difference in speeds to make me even use the wifi at all. maybe if it was a blackberry 8310 with edge than it would be pretty cool but honestly whether im in a wifi spot or in my 3G service area i still get internet at significant speed.

what they need to do is offer free wifi to anyone with a at&t laptop card. 😳

They do offer free wifi with the laptop data plans.

The $60 5Gb includes unlimited wifi at the 17000+ hotspots.

Are you sure you still have the unlimited plan? Last month they changed mine automatically to the new limited 5GB plan.

ya well my situation is a little different, i have an ANR plan which isnt really an ANR plan but more of a demo line and it still shows as unlimited.

Aww, someone couldn't afford the iPhone anymore? ☹️☹️ ☹️
Stop trolling. AT&T's 3G network kicks ass!

1. I currently own an iPhone 3G and use Wi-Fi
2. I live in an area that will not be getting 3G until sometime in 20xx

What is the point of pimping a service that has very little footprint? In my area, Michael Phelps is still faster! 😎

He has a point. They need to roll out 3G to more than just major metro areas.
People always ask "why do you need wifi?"
.... its because 3G is not in as many places as you think. Get out and travel some and you'll see for yourself.
