Android Not Good Enough for Sprint
NOT GOOD ENOUGH?!?!?!!?
Talk about people in glass houses!
because T-Mobile doesn't even own the spectrum up here. NPI wireless runs the roaming network. many of those people without service now are a) college students, b) don't know that t-mobile doesn't own the network, c) are completely screwed if they have a problem while the service is out, or any combination of the 3.
that is not good enough. Sprint at least has enough coverage in our area if one or two towers have problems

granted these are both hard to find online because they don't really want you to know what's theirs and what's other peoples, but for Dan Hesse to denounce the android platform? That makes absolutely no sense. Maybe the licensing costs were more then Sprint's broke self could support for the tech? at any rate they're missing a mint and a goldmine. It doesn't matter how flawless the OS is, the namesake is alr...

I hate to inform you, the information posted for T-mobile IS factual(from a GSM roaming site that covers the PLANET), as is the info from cellphonedigest (which is impartial) which is where I chose to get my post from. I'm sorry you have Sprint. My sources are straight. to which I don't understand your bias..
It's not my fault the facts are the facts. I just don't think you knew, that's all.
*shrug*
🤣
post a generalized coverage map.
If it's right, I'm sure you would have went and searched online for a generalized website that DOES NOT favor GSM that also proved the same theory. That's like going to a Nissan forum and asking which is better a Nissan or Honda. You're biased website proves nothing. Until you can show the actual coverage map then we'll talk.
Yes the world uses GSM in more places than CDMA is used. But let's look at GSM. It is a dying technology like iden. It is not capable of handling the traffic that the future will require and it has dialup like data speeds.
Worldwide coverage is only relevant to the small percentage of people who travel internationally.
GSM is also dirt cheap to install and maintain. That is why T-Mobile is profitable, they don't have the network costs of a carrier with a modern network. They also limit their customers capabilities. Their 3G is a joke. UMTS and not HSPA? The argument should go to a carrier that limits its customers choices by maintaining a low quality network with sub par coverage and appalling in building per...

Hold up. I'm not a "tmo-fanboy" I just hate sprint even more. and true it's dying technology, but that's pretty much going to be WIMAX in 3 years anyway.
Seriously, who would (as a badly suffering wireless carrier) decide not to adopt the next global standard for wireless? .... I know they want the instant gratification, but seriously. Sprint is just rediculous.
As to my previous statement, and posts... I am just posting coverage maps. It was completely in relevance to the sprint having more coverage line someone spoke of earlier. I do not disagree they're network is faster, however better? eh.. I suppose it's decent. They just don't know what to do with it. But innately T-Mobile has MORE COVERAGE with THEIR OWN TOWERS then sp...

As for owning the towers does it really matter who owns the stick? Not owning the stick means that they can put their antennas on more sticks that they don't have now. They do own the antennas. Many towers exist that they can put antennas on. It was a great business move to sell the towers. Leasing reduces costs and liabilities without reducing service.
That's not what happened here. Hesse simply said it wasn't ready and that's mostly because Sprint doesn't have an Android based phone coming out in the short term. Sprint won't be missing out on anything except for the inevitible growing pains that Android will experience. I think Android will be a great platform and Sprint will be a participant in the revolution. It's just not going to happen in the next month or two.
As for coverage. You can site whatever "facts" you like, in my experience, Sprint's voice and data coverage is better than T-Mobile's and it hasn't been close.
