The above statement is coming from someone who just gave up a $30 SERO plan to move to the G1 on T-Mobile. 😎

really? doesnt sprint have more capable phones? from what i read in the review, the g1 isn't all that impressive
...
A lot of reviewers say that it has a lot of potential, but it isn't all there yet. Again, probably why Sprint passed it up. Sprint already has a bad rep, the last thing they need is a phone that will be more damage to the company. I think it was a wise decision...still could have been worded a bit better than that I think.
...
Couldn't've said it better meself! It's like my manager said...beggars can't be choosers and Sprint sure shouldn't be choosing!
As for what 'reviewers' say...you can find a review that will 'say' whatever you want it to. You shouldn't pass judgement on the phone until you've played with it. It's an AWESOME phone with LOTS of potential...so much it might never actually reach it! The BIGGEST plus with this phone is the OPEN SOURCE/MARKET! This opens so many possibilities for the phone.
Sprint really needs to do something...and dissing the Android wasn't the thing to do....
...
Come on guys. It's pretty obvious what's going on here. Dan Hesse is an intelligent individual. He knows Android is getting a ton of attention right now. He also knows his company doesn't have an Android handset releasing in the immediate future, so he says that Android is not ready.
Sprint will have an Android based device in Q2 or Q3 of '09. By that time, the platform will likely have evolved and then Dan can say "Hey guys, NOW Android is great!"
Right now, Android is all potential. I think that in the not-so-distant future, it's going to be great. That being said, I wouldn't want to be an early adopter.

Just get an iPhone =D

thats funny. why would we want iphones?
...
because despite what you think it makes these "iPhone Killers" look like garbage..
...
willvOct 27, 2008, 11:33 AM
only thing i would like from the iphone is multi touch. thats it.... well wifi, but thats on other phones. so the only thing i see the iphone having that no one else has is multi touch.
...
look at the number in sales then argue that...
...
willvOct 27, 2008, 11:37 AM
ahh the number of sales. great to use when you have nothin else 🙂
...
great to use when some apple hater is jealoous cause he cant afford to switch to an iphone =P
...

yeah i guess that iphone, even at full retail, is a little out of my reach. lol. nice one though.
and for the record, im not an apple hater. just dont believe iphone is the best phone ever. im thankfull for what it did to the cell industry, but it lacks a lot.
...
lol i dont even want to list what i have =P
...
that list screams, "i have no money management skills"
...
willvOct 27, 2008, 12:24 PM
maybe a lil 🙂
here is the deal.
i buy the phones retail, use them for a month or 2 then sell them a lil cheaper.
my phonebill is about $20/month, so i save about $130/month. again, i like to know what im selling
and i was in no way bragging, just showing that money was not the reason for NOT owning an iphone 🙂
...
The iphone is junk!I've seen the iphone and played on it!It's garbage compaired to my G1!
...
Hmmm....WalMart has the biggest numbers of any retailer but......I wouldn't be caught dead there.
In the day, the Ford Taurus was the best selling family sedan......wouldn't be caught dead in one.
Please come up with something better than, "look at the sales numbers"

i agree on the potential, i really do. i think android could be the os of the cell future, however, i think its gonna take them a long time if they make their first phone with no video. i mean come on. thats the one part that kills me. i dont use it a lot, but i do use it. yeah i have a handycam, but its not always with me like my phone. although, im pretty sure att's curve doesnt do video either, so maybe its not such a big deal to some. in the next few months i think android will get a lot better
...
Their already working on video! All it will take is a software upgrade.
...
willvOct 29, 2008, 8:25 AM
but see thats the problem. they shouldnt have to work on it post release. they know people want it, and everyone knows htc's can do video, and fairly well. so why not skip all the bs, and take the camera/video software from a mogul or something.
...
Oh, please! Sprint has several G1 killers. The G1 is an iPhone wannabe, at best.
...
Stop hating because you can't afford one.Maybe one day you might be able to get one on your pre-paid plan!
...
Sprint will have a great Android phone! Just not until its ready. This gives me more confidence when the phone comes out it wont cut corners like the one on t-mobile did. Anyone can afford a g1 especially now that its sold at walmart 🤣 The question is do we want one? Nope! 🙄 Sprint already has phones that can run circles around the g1. All of Sprints Htc phones have a media player and video recorder. 😁 What happen to the g1 why doesnt have more features? Htc is not to blame we know they have the technology. They make really good phones so what happen? Touch Pro comes out tommorow I cant wait! 😁

Did I catch you in another lie? 😎

U my man sound like a wise paerson!!!!
