Its software patent rubbish again. Instead of fighting a war over patent rights (Visual Voicemail is patented), Verizon apparently would rather pay for a "license" for the idea of Visual Voicemail. Hopefully this won't jack up the price of the equipment any... :/

it wouldn't affect the price of any equipment, but possibly could affect the price of th downloadable voicemail applicaton.

Not likely. VZW had to know there were patent infringements pending, so they built that into the $2.99 price. Besides, a quick licensae purchase is waaay cheaper than a drawn out lawsuit. 😁

And this is funny because AT&T only has 1 PHONE WITH VISUAL VOICE MAIL and Verizon has 3 and will soon have it on all phones?
