No dumbass, the joke does not simply revolve solely around the reference to the mexican fastfood chain but to part of the name, 'bell'. As in Northern 'Bell', and other Alexander Graham Bell namesake telcos. The tie-in to Taco Bell/Latin America is simply the punch line, not the core of the joke. You sir, fail.

Then what does it mean by "Taco Bell" The bell part: Oh yes, everything that has to do with cell phones must be connected to AT&T, I could understand that. Taco? Yes, just because a Latin American company MAYBE in talks to buy Nextel (and nothing finalized, just Sprint looking over bids, mind you), lets forget those private equity firms and make jokes about about that. Let's forget about the fact that the company could make or break Nextel: Hey, they come from south of the border, they must eat tacos.
