AT&T: LTE 'Significantly Available' In 5 Years

So basically AT&T is trying to divert attention from:

1) The fact that their 3G network is few and far between, and that speeds on it are cookin' if they match EvDO...
2) ...let alone WiMAX. 'nuff said. Sprint is rolling out 4G (live with it) tech now and AT&T isn't. It's that simple.
3) The problem of LTE still eing vaporware, and continuing to be that way for awhile yet. Plenty of WiMAX deployments, zero LTE.
4) Their HSPA network needs to get decent coverage before embarking on another tech upgrade. EvDO on Sprint\VZ\Alltel has plenty enough of a base to start on a 4G upgrade plan. ATT 3G...doesn't.

As usual, AT&T is trying to cover themselves as people, out from under the glow of the iPhone Reality Distortion Field, realize that...

Thing is that VZ (and Alltel by proxy should the merger go through) has also announced that LTE will be their 4G upgrade path as well. Makes sense since Vodafone has also announced this for Europe as far as I know.

Seems this is the same old stuff in a new package. Everytime a carrier announces something like this there are haters, detractors, and nay-sayers. Doesn't matter who is speaking or what they say.
