its been confirmed on engadgetmobile (http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/09/23/con firmed-t-mobile-g1-has-no-3-5mm-headphone-jac k/) that there is no headphone jack, only the HTC proprietary ExtUSB connector, meaning you'll need custom headphones or an adapter to plug in your own.

Hmmm, I wonder if that means that if I have an adapter that would work on the ATT Tilt to adapt it to a 3.5mm headphone jack, that this same adapter work work on the G1.

On another though, I've been with ATT for over 6.5yrs, I'm not sure if I'm ready for a change or not. I read at the bottom of Tmo's webpage promoting the G1 that if you go over 1GB of usage that your speed will be lowered to 50kbps.

Ah, good to know. Well, the G1 is definetly a sophistated device. But I do wonder what other Android handsets we can look forward to between now and the 2nd Qtr of 09. And I hope the Android Marketplace catches on like a wild fire! ! !

HTC requires an adapter for everything it's so annoying. That and processor speeds are what I hate about HTC.

As surprising as it may be, the HTC Touch HD will be the 1st ever device that will actually have a real 3.5mm headphone jack. For me the headphone jack and the camera were really big sales points for me buying the N95-3.

right...I like how you all are so intranced with this phone. and that it's so much better. I guess the 8GB non expandable memory really says alot. OOOOhhhh and the fact that it doesnt record video just spills with joy. ooohhhh and the fact that it doesnt cut and past like it said it would do...or even better yet that it doesnt sync to your pc or your calendar or address book. OOOhhh and here's the deal breaker; this just that makes me want to dump my iPhone, T-mobile is only allowing 1GB of data transfer on there 3G network...WOW!!!!!!
NOT

The memory is expandable. It has 256MB on-board memory. It comes with a 1GB memory card. It's currently expandable to support 8GB memory cards and will support 16GB cards when they become available in the future.

It does cut and paste.

It syncs with Google's software over the phone. Is it really that much of a hassle to use Google's products instead of Microsoft's? It's not like you have to pay to make the switch. Either way, the open source platform will allow someone to make the sync happen.

1GB of data transfer is not a hard cap. They give 1GB of 3G speeds then bump you back down to EDGE. I'm not sure why they're doing that. It's not really an issue for me. I use about 50MB/month of data transfer, but I can see why it's...
