Sprint Speed

The article clearly state that if the right offer was made. Everything is for sale at the right price even if you didn'y plan on selling. Iden better for business customers and government Sprint CDMA handles the data side. Att and Verizon know that Ptt will take off again that's why they lowerd their prices.

iDen is over. Forget about it. Other carriers lowered their prices because they could not sell it. Besides, that f***ing chirp is so obnoxious. People use it just to say 'look at me'! I swear, if I hear another chirp at the airport I will go postal! Why would anyone need to chirp at the airport? It is so loud and intrusive, I can't wait for it to go away. 👿

What even worse, is those mullet haircut, trailer park trash have to beep and shout into those nextel phones in restaurants and other places. I rarely could careless while at dinner that I have to hear their kid has the craps and they need to get diapers on the way home. The quicker the death of this nonsense the better.

after all these hateful Nextel posts i have to wonder if any of you at all ever even used Nextel. Theres a simple button to push to make your conversations private and still manage to make the connections in under a second, just wothout the world having to hear. Now I imagine that alot of the trash out there dont know about this and maybe dont care to learn because its cooler to yell in front of people, but please, dont blame that on the technology.

Not to mention the fact you NEVER EVER see these same folks complaining about speakerphone usage on regular cellphones, which is on the rise these days, or families who use regular FRS walkie-talkies like you buy at the store.

Your funny when you get pissed off! But you are right. What I find more annoying is trying to talk to a GSM user and I have to call them back two and a half times during a 20 min conversation. Twice to finish what I was saying and the half to tell them to call me when they get home!
Last week my friend left his ATT phone in the car. Somebody broke into his car and wouldn't you know it, he came out and found two more ATT phones next to his!

I've personally never had problems communicating with AT&T customers. I still think that CDMA is better technology overall. My old Powersource phone (I now own a Renegade) would get a signal in places where I live that AT&T phones would crap out.

Funny I have gsm and have no problems, then again what do I know, while iden is on life support and many carriers around the globe are dropping cdma for gsm, whats your point?

The CDMA/ GSM lines at this point are pretty clearly drawn, theres no one dropping CDMA for GSM anymore. Sprint started GSM then went CDMA and sold all existing GSM to Tmobile and Alltel because CDMA offered the outstanding call quality that GSM simply cant. not trying to start this war all over again, just pointing out facts.

Maybe it has something to do with people who use/used walkie talkies didn't bring them into the movies, restaurants, malls and other public places.

Movies, no, but I have seen plenty of emergency workers and police officers eating lunch at local restaurants and malls with radios still attached and on.

I think it's rude to talk on ANY cell phone inside a movie theater. All newer phones can be set to vibrate (including Nextels). If I receive an important call during a movie, I leave the theater and take the call out in the lobby.

Well carmodboy, if you had done your job and shown your customers how to use the privacy feature when you sold it to them, then we would not have anything to complain about would we? Bottom line..every time I hear that chirp sound my blood pressure goes up. Workers communicating with dispatchers...OK, but anyone else, I want to shove that Moto phone up their .....

not for nothing, but when was the last time you sat in a store long enough to get a full tutorial on a phone? we offer them, and answer any and all questions posed to us even if you dont want the full learning session, but in taking up 30-45 minutes of someone's time to purchase activate and sign off on a new phone and talk a mile a minute explaining as much as possible (and even then people just "yea yea" the whole time because they just wanna go home and try out the device)its not entirely possible to go through the entire user manual with them and force them to understand. So dont come at me because you surround yourself with the type of people who dont care about common courtesy (to put it lightly). I cant remember the last time I he...

well what about all the other companies that now have the direct connect? did you ever stop to think that we DID do our job and some people choose to not listen. Maybe everyone needs to just realize that every wireless customer makes their own decision on what phone they want and everyone else should DEAL WITH IT!!!!

Most normal people on this planet just make a regular phone call, and you can have one touch or voice activated calling.

Really? So, do you think that regular police radios should also be banned from the public sector as well?

Most cops here use either VZW or AT&T? I don't see them using Nextel at all. I think this emergency services thing is quite overstated.

Although a few years back, I checked into Nextel as a goof, they offered me a large discount on the phones and service because I shown my Emergency Room Hospital identification.

Over 90% of government and businesses still use Sprint and Nextel. Maybe not where you live, but I see them everywhere where I live.

And since when is it that Nextel became the ONLY two-way radio that exists in the public sector? Emergency personnel have carried radios around for years. At least with a Nextel, you only hear a conversation if someone calls them. With the old fashioned kind, you hear a constant barrage of radio chatter emanating from their sets they wear.

Your exactly right, how dare the phone make a chirp sound. Heaven forbid a phone chimes, buzzes or plays the MIDI version of AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" after each text message a person gets at the highest volume a phone can go. 🤣

Thats why I set my text message tone to the nextel chirp, just to piss off people just like you 😉
