Show me ONE Verizon Smartphone that has a crippled UI? Show my ONE Verizon Smartphone that has restricted Bluetooth?

The only thing I can think of that could even possibly be labeled as restricted on the smartphones is the A-GPS. Notice how I did not say GPS, because to my knowledge:

NOT ONE CELLULAR DEVICE OFFERED ANYWHERE IN THE USA HAS NETWORK-INDEPENDENT GPS!

Every single cellphone out there has a stripped-down, cheap as possible GPS technology in it that is incapable of providing GPS outside of a network coverage area, no matter what info Blackberry Maps may have stored in the individual memory of your handsets. If you are using the network operator's towers to power you location services, you should expect to pay a network ...

You can use Google Maps, Garmin Maps, TomTom Maps and Live with an AT&T Tilt (Kaiser) and with Garmin and TomTom you don't even have to have a sim card in the phone.

But otherwise, your point is well taken. And this is a damned nice phone.

And at least Google Maps works well with most Verizon smartphones (minus the Q). I've got VZNav and google maps on my VZW pearl, and I found that there are places where each works better than the other. FWIW I uninstalled blackberry maps, because even though it was nice, VZW crippled its GPS.

MANY smartphones offered in the US have full feature GPS. The AT&T Tilt (aka HTC Kaiser aka HTC TyTN II) is just one example.

Some of those phones ALSO offer A-GPS in addition to normal GPS so that they can enhance the GPS service, but in no way are they restricted by having both.

well i WILL show you a phone...my 8830 on VZW.

They have removed TONS of bluetooth profiles INCLUDING the profile to use the phone as a modem via bluetooth AND the profile to backup the phone with blackberry desktop manager via bluetooth.

I have called and discussed this with MULTIPLE vzw managers and they say the reason is because they havent perfected the security on it and they are just looking out for me! well the problem with that logic, AT THE TIME, was that the mini usb port on my phone had broken and i couldnt backup my phone via bluetooth, they told me tough cookies! luckily i got someone at the vzw store to credit me $50 towards getting the mini usb port fixed at a local mobile repair shop (www.blueridgewireless.com), unfor...
