The Samsung Rant...

Dual slider....?

Looks like just a side-slider to me.

AND a blatant knock off of the Rumor/Scoop.

Maybe just me...

Hopefully the Rant is EVDO capable. The Rumor is just 1x... 🙄 The Lotus is a little odd looking but still cute to me in purple. It will be popular with tween/teen girls. The new HTC Diamond is beautiful. I wonder how much its going to cost with 2yr agreement? I will be 30 in November so I need a more grown up looking phone... 🤣 .

The diamond last I knew was 250 with 100 mail in rebate with 2yr agreement. I'm a single immature 47 yr old male looking for miss right. send picture of phone! 🤣 and I am stoked for the Touch Pro.

The Diamond is set to launch at $299 after $100 MIR, and the Pro @ $329 with the same MIR. This is the pricing we were handed down on 9/1, so unless they do a last few days change like they did the Instinct after we had all the signage and everything, then there's your pricing.

No, slammer's right... after rebates the Diamond is 249, and the Pro is 299.

I'm sitting at work looking at WiPOD and the actual tags and signage as we speak... checked the site, I see no info at all on either phone, could you site a source please?

To answer without answering... technically its against policy for me to site my source... 😉

so you cant source the site to us without citing your source? could you cite a site that your source sourced its site without citing any specific sites?

yea, i would hope so anyway... aside from WSJ i've not seen or heard anything about the lower pricing, but $429 and $399 for phones @ new or upgrade pricing is kinda crazy in our current economic situation, unless you just didnt really wanna sell them.

Frtunately this time around from what I've read on Crave.cnet.com all of those phones WILL have EV-DO. I'm glad they're not making a second mistake like with the rumor. I also love the fact that the Samsung Rant is hopefully going to be priced at the same price as the Rumor $49.99. I love the Lotus Esp the color. I think I'm going to get that phone to replace my 800w, I'll be carrying around a regular handset and my Blackberry 8330. I'm tired of keeping up with two PDA's. I'm excited for Sprint.

I think you're right on, rgates. They got the dual slider part wrong. And design-wise, it looks just like a rumor. Hopefully it will be a better quality device though.

We are talking about the same phone, right? The Rant looks just like the Rumor: it has the number pad on the face and slides open to reveal the QWERTY.

Ok if you look at engadgemobile and see the dual slider is a dual slider. One end slides out the keypad and the top end slides out the speak for music. Check out this link. ITs not a typo man. http://www.engadgetmobile.com/photos/sprint-s hows-fall-dumbphone-lineup-new-one-click-user -interface-2/1028807/

I give PROPS to sprint for finally getting some more choices and this is a Good move on part of Dan H.

Opie, you are speaking of the highnote which is without a doubt a dual slider. If you read the article here on Phonescoop, it says that the rant "slides up to reveal a standard numeric keypad, and slides sideways to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard", making it a dual slider as well. We believe this is the typo as the numeric keypad is on the face of the phone.

I think what he is saying is that when the number pad is not exposed, a speaker is and when slid open it hides the speaker. interesting concept but rather odd since there is a speaker already on the slide part. oh well. I need a beer!

the highnote has three positions: speakers exposed, number pad exposed and closed

so the speakers exposed are for media apps only? this is an odd design. what about the earpiece speaker?

the way the article and a couple other items I found web-wide seem to show the stereo speakers as intended for music or multimedia use, but they didn't exclude web or any other uses either .. looks like we'll have to wait for those details

In order for anyone to keep from looking like an idiot, it probably be best to stay away from this one. 🤣 But my honest "opinion" of the Rant is that it is a typo. I believe it only has a slide out keyboard as like the Rumer.

The Highnote is a dual-slider.
