What is the point? Verizon is most likely going to kill that plan in a month or two anyway. đŸ¤Ŗ

Possibly to lure in more customers before the merger is complete? Seems like a smart business move from that angle.

Also possibly to force Verizon or whatever other company gobbles up the divestitures to either honor the contract, unroll similar features, or let customers out of contract early. Might as well shake things up a bit.

From what I understand any features that Alltel customers currently have as a part of their plan will be grandfathered in when the merger is complete, but after the two year contract they'd have to get a VZW plan. And it's definitely a great selling point for me if a customer shows interest in Alltel to bring that up, so it seems like a smart idea to me.

And hell I just like the packages. 🙂

unless verizon wants to let people out of their two year contracts they will have to leave them alone for at least the term of their contract.

I agree. I think VZW will have to honor the contract. This will give the subscribers at least a 2 year peace of mind. We do not have alltel in our area so I have no comparisons of price. But I have heard that Alltels plans are more aggressive and appealing to the money savvy consumer. So it would be interesting to see what happens after the contract.

Though the "contract" is something that might have to be honored, We here at Alltel, along with our anytime plan changes, do not contract our customers to their features ☚ī¸ so even if they might get to keep their rate plan and price the features might be dropped....that happened to a few of my custys when Alltel took over USC's liscence in my area a few years ago. That's unfortunately what most of us don't know and I only learned this the other day but even the My Circle is considered a feature. So maybe if Verizon is really mean they can drop it without droppin ETF's đŸ˜ŗ

Not sure, a customer signed with Alltel over other carriers just for that and other features, many will scream to their loca...
