Good news but...

... don't you think they are really screwing the pooch on this one? By the time it comes out HTC will have a new phone out and the new GSM Treo will be out and so will the Crackberry Bold ... they simply are taking too long. It's just like the decision to sell the SE 750a - a great candidate for an unlocked unbranded phone due to it's Global Roaming capabilities - only through AT&T. They are missing a loyal (although small) niche market. These decisions make no sense to me.

Big difference is the SE Z750a is a cheap, well lets say inexpensive phone that has alot of goodies for the money. It can easily be unlocked and debranded through De Vinci.

The Xperia X1 is going to be expensive and late to the ball game. The Touch Diamond and Pro will be released for the North American market way before. But the advantages of quad band gsm and tri band hsdpa on the Xperia does give it a nice edge for those who travel. As far as the Palm, not sure, did play with the Sprint Treo 800w and it was fast and snappy, if their new GSM Treo is better, it will be significant competition if one doesn't want or need TouchFlo or similar overlays that the Xperia will have.
