MetroPCS Hops on LTE Bandwagon
Overview of 4G technologies per carrier
AT&T - LTE
Verizon - LTE
Sprint - WiMax
T-Mobile - none yet, but most likely LTE
Alltel - LTE
US Cellular - TBA
MetroPCS - LTE
Leap/Cricket - TBA
So, we now have four U.S. carriers who have chosen LTE, one who has chosen WiMax, and still none who have chosen UMB. If USCC and Leap want to stay competitive by having all these roaming agreements, it makes most sense to choose LTE. UMB will be dead on arrival.

And Wimax will have three Sprint fanboys, its CEO and board of directors scratching their heads wondering why they're still losing customers.

I hope the carriers use 700MHz instead of 2.5GHz, since the signal will travel farther, better travel through walls, and fewer towers.

Alltel will only LTE if they stay Alltel. Otherwise, it won't matter anymore, as they're in the process of being bought out.
