Does this mean they're gonna sell the Nextel name too?

Or sell the towers only. I for one, would welcome the sale of the name too.

Personally, I think they should have dropped the Nextel name because it really does confuse people. But, with Verizon picking up Q-Chat..

They know if they sold nextel, a lot of business customers would go away too. I'm guessing, they'll keep nextel, offer their push-to-talk-on-cdma to business customers, making them think its an iDEN network, and try to get the sold out iden network to shutdown.

cant wait to get out.

VERIZON DOESN'T USE QCHAT! I really wish people would make sure they know what they are talking about before they post.

I never said they are currently using Qchat. I did read that they were in talks to pick it up. If they do, chances are customers on both networks will be able to walkie talkie each other. If Sprint wants to keep those large companies who use their walkie talkie customers, the option will still be there.

now come on! Verizon is a really good company. they have excelled in buying customers. why work at building a network from the ground up? they didn't know how to attract customers, so they bought them. and now with a 40 billion dollar debt, they will pass the buck to their customers as they always have. at least some companies know their limitations.

Hey I will admit that I am a Verizon "fanboy" BUT I at least know what I am talking about BEFORE I make a post. Verizon will never use Q-Chat. They are using a different system that was developed by Motorola.

The most interesting and exciting thing that will be happening soon is when Sprint strictly sells their Qchat service. Thats when the "real" competition will begin. But personally in my opinion Verizons PTT service is just as fast as Nextel.

Now it doesnt have the back up like Nextel has and thats an advantage that they have.

Sprint is in trouble. They should have never bought Nextel. Thats what I think anyway.
