What next?

On sale now! Corporate Stores!! Get them while they are HOT! Special, Buy 1 Get 1 Free.

Bonus: For every 5 Stores you buy, you get 1 Free Instinct - oh wait, there are no Instincts to go around. We will substitute the Blackberry Curve - crap, none of those either.

You'll have to settle for the Special Edition Beyonce Gold Upstage.

actually, this a good move. most of the customer loss has been on the nextel end. and its a dead horse. they should get rid of it while they can.
as far as the towers go, Verizon and Att lease towers too. so this would not be unusual.

I wonder who will actually want to buy them? 😉

there is a company overseas that uses iden. I think that they would be first choice. it would have to be a company tht is only interested in a smaller market by comparison. sometimes that's better.

I have to agree here. Most of the iDEN customers are either moving to Sprint phones or other carriers. And it isn't only because they aren't happy with their service. A lot of people who come into my store want more of the media features that CDMA offers. The only folks who keep their Nextel phones are the ones who need that Walkie Talkie. A lot of those folks who need it are willing to give it up half the time. I think this is a smart move. Stop focusing on improving the network everyone is trying to move away from and focus on the one that is actually going to offer your customers.

that's the beauty of Qchat. it will work on sprints service and if your in a dead zone, at least you can still make regular calls.

LOL no, THAT WAS the beauty of Nextel. if youre in a CDMA dead zone you dont get either one. With Nextel where you didnt get calls you still got radio access.

I was speaking about the sprint phone would more than likely go into roam which would render Qchat useless. as for nextel, very rarely did I have DC when I lost calling. but I really liked nextel. I only switched because I needed better data.

I think he's means when the phone lines go down, or there is no cellular service at all for anybody. In those cases, Nextel DC works and QChat doesn't.

Yeah, but God forbid you have to call one of the majority of people who don't have direct connect...

That's why I have a Powersource phone. This is the direction I think Sprint should have gone. What good is saving money by not running two networks if all your subscribers leave you?

The only reason the Blackberry Curve was hard to get on Sprint service was because of RIM. According to them they ran out of parts to make them on Sprint service.

And actually the Beyonce Upstage is Burgundy color with gold trimmings. 😉
