That you are all experts on market conditions, experts on how much money a company is making, and experts on everything relating to carriers you have no involvement in.

To add to that thought: do you think someone @ Sprint woke up today and said "Lets sell all our towers!!!!!111ONE!"? Seriously? This is called a business PLAN. It was planned, executed, and successfully implemented by people who get paid more than any of you. Speculation is one thing, but seriously guys, get off your high horse and use your brains abit before opening your mouths(or before clicking the submit button).

You're right. They are not stupid for doing something like this. But the fact that my coverage is weak, and their poor customer satisfaction makes it look like they are making people mad.

Actually, as Sprint moves finally toward a majority of the tower models of all major carriers (it's always had plenty of towers in lease-back, in fact many of the affiliates purchased went into that arrangement years back), this may free up tower engineering to focus on funding expansion and newer equipment. Dunno if you're IDEN or CDMA with Sprint but improvements come from letting go of expensive things, like tower management. Hope this helps you.

I got a CDMA unit in midtown ATL. katana dlx does not pickup the best reception, plus it takes a while to make a call. For example, when I push "Dial", the screen will say 'Connecting...' as it is attempting to literally connect my call to the other line. So, i'd have to wait like 15-30 seconds before I hear the first ring. They told me it is one of their 'best' phones.

I hear what your saying but I have to tell you that I have had every U.S. carrier and it has happened on everyone of them. its a radio signal and it can mess up no matter what. cellular radio signals are not flawless. it happens with radio stations too. any magnetic or electrical interference can trigger frustration. it will get better. that is why the government is trying to free up some of the spectrum. cellular is still young compared to other technologies and I am going to have faith that sprint will be the one to up the game very shortly. as far as your DLX, I agree that sanyo is a little better than the other brands on the sprint network but the DLX was an exception to that. in fact is has been discontinued and sanyo has now been boug...

I'm on my 2nd Blackberry. Had one with T-Mobile, now with Sprint. Personal opinion of the phone is extremely high, and reception seems excellent.

Random tip on phones: business type phones tend to have the best reception, but often the worst battery life.
