no... this is a great move and if you want a slider get the decoy. The old chocolate was a service nightmare for stores, the cable in the slide went bad on many of them from sliding it over and over again.

U never scene one go white screen! i sent a ton back and fru a bunch with white screen, but i also fixed a lot by replacing cable. White screen= bad cable. I am not dogging on it, i owned one and loved it, but waranty wise razr was the worste and the chocolate was number 2. I will say the 2nd version of the phone was much better, but not near the reliablity of other lg models

True about the ribbon...Ive replaced a few myself and it fixed the white screen of doom lol..

i dont know if its related, but all the 8500's that ive seen go white screen still had that blue shipping sticker still attached on the inside slide part. I think it might just be binding that ribbon cable up inside and wiping out the screen.

hmm, i have sceen both but that is something to think about..like maybe it sticks more to the plastic/rubber sticker

im not a fan or lg or the chocolate phones its gonna be another crap phone that everybody needs to get replaced every month!

No,my daughter has a Verizon Wireless LG 8600 which was the one that came out before that nice looking 8700 I had for a few months. (Lousy sound quality).
Verizon retired the 8600 before it had even been out a year.
