having just spent a year struggling with the blackberry storm, i went to the iphone and ATT a couple weeks back. I was at verizon today to upgrade my wifes phone and was given demonstrations of the motorola droid by no less than 3 sales people (once they saw my iphone they couldn't help themselves i guess).

i was hoping for more from motorola but was very disapponted. so some observations:

- screen transitions were choppy not smooth and fluid like the iphone.
- overall design is clunky and kind of like a brick. i like the htc droid phone much better.
- lack of control of the software and hardware platform was evident given the lack of ergonomic factors.
- screen swiping was choppy not smooth like the iphone

If you like the Iphone so much stick with it. This is not the Iphone so stop comparing it to it.

One phone is called the Droid
One phone is called the Iphone

See?They're not spelled the same. People who are looking for an Iphone should buy an Iphone. I wanted something better than the Iphone and thats why i bought my droid. No regrets and the issues you mentioned i am not having those similiar problems with my device.

Also note that you had nothing positive to say about the phone. Go enjoy your Iphone fanboy.

I rather have the Storm 1 then the iPhone. Then, I rather have the Droid, Storm 2 or Eclair then the iPhone. Then, Id rather have the MyTouch, Touch Pro 2, Hero, Moment or the Cliq then the iPhone. Last but not least, Id rather have a iPod Touch and a $15 Nokia then a iPhone. That last part was a bit of a joke and some hater-aid action. After using a iPhone, Id rather have a Blackberry. Hating aside, the iPhone is the perfect phone for iTunes users. Outside of heavy iTunes usage, the iPhone falls short too much.

Looking at a Live Droid today, the phone feels very good in your hand. The keyboard was flat and had no feedback but I think the keyboard i...

I watched a two hour movie on the thing, full brightness, and the battery dropped a quarter of a bar. I was stunned.

First you say:

Outside of heavy iTunes usage, the iPhone falls short too much.

Huh? I hardly use iTunes. Your view is skewed towards not knowing anything.

Then you say:

You can tell a big difference between this phone and the G1.... unlike the 1st iPhone and the 3GS.

and

the iphone i used i used unlocked on T-Mobile

Hello??? McFly???? Did you ever think that there really IS no difference between the 1st iPhone and the 3GS when it is on a network with NO 3G support for the iPhone???? Calling all rocket-scientists!!!!! ROFLMAO@U

I think the Droid is a great addition for VZW, I like seeing them embrace the future BEFORE the future is now. I'...
