Separate Fee for Messaging is Lame

This is so lame. Messaging is not included in a data plan and users wanting the messaging option will have to fork over from $5 to $20 additional per month. I'd expect more from AT&T.

I guess I am not buying an iPhone then. Or at least not any time soon.

Yeah I really want it but 39.99 plus $30 plus $20 for text plus prob $12 tax would take me just over $100...NUTZ!

Sprint includes everything because they kind of have to?
They lost millions of customers. Their customer serivce, and phone selections are absolutely worst of the worst.
Verizon and AT&T do not need to go for 99.99 unlimited everything.

i also didn't say anything about sprint. i said at&t and verizon. and i was implying that it was the same set up at&t has for all pda's and smartphones... oh, and sprint offers everything under the sun because they have to!

I wouldn't expect more from AT&T. Honestly, it's not like they're a consumer friendly company.

This nickel and diming is EXACTLY what you'd expect them to do.

This is how to screw the system:

I'm mad at AT&T, but will get around the texting fees, and this is how I'll do it. I think if enough people complain, they'll change it back to 200 texts included, which is how it SHOULD be.

Man. This puts a damper on my iPhone purchase.

I don't think it's going to work.
Iphone was the only device that had 20 dollars for unlimited Data + Texting. I remember people were complaing about "Oh, that is too little. I need more texting! Why even bother to include only 200 texting!?"
AT&T and Verizon charges 30 dollars for most of their smart phones like blackberry, HTC phones, and Window mobile devices.
They do not include any texting. I don't see what you say, "IT IS how it should BE!"

People always complain when they do not get what they want.
If you cannot afford it, then do not buy it. It's just as simple as that.

Exactly. This whole new policy was enacted to have a traditional type plan and phone system for the iPhone sine it is being subsidized.

It's so funny when people say "That's the way it should be" or whatever just because something is changing from what they know. So typical of small-minded people.

small minded?

Listen moron: if you review exactly what a text message is, it's data. If you break down the amount of data and compare it to the price of a text, you're getting royally screwed. Texting is a huge rip off, and it's AT&T nickel and diming people.

Ummm...this is NOT gonna work! It says "Free service--pay for text messages only" This service converts emails to a text. Not text to an email.....do some research! I knew it sounded to good to be true!
