I'm not sure the iphone can be on a family plan i believe it needs to be on a plan of its own, as to the ones that were mentioned. although i could be wrong, you would have to check with a rep.

The iPhone can be placed on a family plan. The data plan has to be included separately, and would only be useable on the line with the iPhone. For example: If you have 4 lines on your account, and one of those lines is an iPhone you could put unlimited family text on all 4 lines for $30/mo and then add the cheapest iPhone package to the line with the iPhone (which was $20, I think it may be increasing to $25 with the new iPhone). I worked for AT&T, and I have my family plan set up like that. It works out well pricewise. The only difference in the plan with the NEW iPhone plans are that they are a little more expensive. Otherwise everything offerred is the same. 😎

That's exactly what I've been wondering about. I've been you couldn't share the unlimited family messaging plan with an iphone user - but you say you can? Boy, I'm glad to hear that! I thought I'd have to pay another $20 for my own unlimited messaging plan, in addition to the $30 iphone data charge.

So if I have a family plan, adding an iphone to the account wouldn't cost me any more than adding a blackberry or pda data plan.

Alright if a current employee could help that would be great...I am currently on family plan with my mother and father. Mother being the host at 50.00, father 9.99, and myself 9.99. From what I have read at At&t it looks like that in order for me to get an iPhone my 9.99 will HAVE to go to 39.99.

Is that correct? Can it be added w/o the unlimited data which is where I assume the extra 30.00 is coming from?

Thanks
