Really? Just outta curiosity...why so quick to jump ship? I think I'll wait to see how this unfolds. If Helio's innovation remains intact...I'm good. Plus, with the Ocean 2 comin' out soon (supposedly), and a monthly "All In" plan that can't be beat - I think I'll wait to see what happens.

Yeah, the Dare looks cool. But, you'd have to join VZW! Are you willing to do that? I think if I ended up leaving Helio/Vigin I'd either go back to Sprint or, give AT&T a shot. VZW would be the last of my options.

The first thing that will happen is they will change the name to Virgelio.
The second thing that will happen is Virgin will lift that almost automatic 325 deposit required after a 20 question interrigation to any new customer.

VM has recently launched an unlimited plan, add unlimited messaging and data and you have your $99 unlimited Helio plan.

You can read more about the merger here:

helions don't have to go anywhere... if anything this move will probably expand your options and possibly get some better deals. a combined helio/virginusa can negotiate better network deals with sprint. besides, sk telecom (helio's main parent) will still be involved, having seats on the new virgin board and expanded investment. i wouldn't be so quick to jump ship. if anything the main thing that would change would be the branding from helio to virgin.

I would give them a chance. Helio is a really good phone company and they offer a ton of great things. I highly doubt that Virgin Mobile will trash it and make it something it is not.

On a side not- We are (sorta) running out of choices. I mean T-Mobile bought SunCom. Virgin bought Helio. Verizon bought Alltel. So now the real question is, who is going to buy Sprint Laughing. I just want a lot verity and I am sure other want it too.

While vareity is good, if it's not a sound business model, it realluy doesn't matter. At the end of the day, you still have to make a profit.

This is true. But still, I would at least like to have four different phone companies to pick from.
