Its at this point that I remind EVERYONE that a carrier actually recoups the "subsidy" price of phones within the first 4 months of active service.

I still believe ALL carriers should allow one to bring their own phone, unlocked, or previously activated carrier branded specific phone and go NO CONTRACT.

Is the 2- Year agreement for the "service plan" - if so, then they should stop allowing people to change plans, all add-ons and subtractions should requite ETFs to be paid then.
Is the 2- Year agreement for the "phone price" - if so, then they should stop allowing people to unlock and re-up their 2 year agreement for new price. All phone changes should require ETF's to be paid then.

SO WHICH IS IT!!!!

At the end of the day, it al...

I can't speak to the other carriers but if you have your own unlocked equipment that is compatible with AT&T service then bring it over and you won't have to sign a contract or if you pay the full price of a phone you can do no contract there are options out there so stop complaining

Yes, VZW has been prorate their ETF's for about a year now. I don't remember the actual date, but I think it was close to a year ago.
They start at $175 and drop by $5 each month of paid service.

This is incorrect, if you bring your own equipment to me (AT&T) and ask to activate service, we will have you sign a 12 month commitment.

do you work for a COR store or a dealer? if you are in a COR store are you in Telegence or Care? Cause COR stores in Telegence markets have the option for a no commitment plan you still pay activation fee but you can do it check with your manager

Hey I work for a COR location on CARE in Miami, FL. I know we only have two options 2year or non commitment. 2year would be with a discount on a phone and if you have your own to device to activate with you can go no contract route. Now if you want an iphone you have to take a contract regardless. If you want to purchase a phone outright at the regular price you can activate without contract.

Activating without contract sucks for reps because they dont get paid for it!!!!

Yeah we suck at everything thats why we have the best rates and are number one in customer service for what like 5 years now. Yeah your right we suck at everything. 🙄

I'm sorry we can't give you free service, free phone and let you leave whenever you want. I think this is a very fare deal. If it were up to me I wouldn't cut people a break on the ETF. All it does is make it easier for every jack off like yourself to whine like a 2 year old little girl because they can't get their way Now its easier threaten to cancel and go to another carrier were retard like you are so sure that they will give in to all their demands.

So long don't let the door hit you on the way out.

No, he was dead on. People always want everything for free. Accept the changes and move on. How big of a deal is the etf anyways? Its not like you wont be able to put your kids through college cuz you can't afford to pay your etf.

I guess paying one's monthly till is getting something for nothing? No, it won't drive me broke to pay off $200 on an etf fee, but, no other industry does this, well to this extent. And others as well as myself would much rather spend $200 on something else then give it to some telco.

So dont have a cell phone then or use att or verizon which are the two overall best companies.

Yeah, it sucks, and I dont like it either, but its the world we live in. I like the move that tmobile made today and I think its pretty fair for customers.

just my two cents I guess

Well either they will change, or the government will step in, people are pissed far more then then those here who find no problems with this. And please, don't give this government shouldn't interfere, these companies have no problems with government interference when it works for their benifit.

I don't think TMO sucks, but I do think the ETF in its present form from all carriers do. I do understand ETF's to subsidize a phone. But if I bring my own phone, or wish to pay full cost for a phone there is no reason for a 2 year contract.

End users should not be under any obligation to provide planned usage for the future for any carrier. If TMO, AT&T, VZW and Sprint wish to charge me under some pro-rated charge for the recoup of the cost of a subsidized phone, fine.

Good customer service as well as infrastructure should be used to maintain customers.

T-mobile does offer that if you want to. They have the flex-pay plans which offer almost all the same features as the regular contract plans. There are some slight differences but thats it.
